Commercial Pilot Lessons in Midland TX.

Commercial Pilot Prerequisites:

  • Before any type of flight training the student will have to prove U.S. Citizenship. This can be done by either presenting a U.S. Passport or Birth Certificate. If you are not a U.S. Citizen the TSA will require you to go through a background check before starting flight training. The background application can be done at www.fts.tsa.dhs.gov.
  • A private pilot or commercial certificate.

Requirements:

At least 250 hours of flight.

  • ​100 hours in powered aircraft.
  • 50 hours in airplanes.

100 hours of PIC

  • ​50 hours in airplanes.

50 hours of cross country.

  • ​10 in airplanes.

20 hours of training.

  • ​10 hours of instrument.​
  • 10 hours of complex or in a technical advanced aircraft.
  • 1 day cross country that is 2 hours long and has at least a straight line distance of 100 NM.
  • 1 night cross country that is 2 hours long and has at least a straight line distance of 100 NM.

At least 10 hours of solo time.

  • 1 cross country of at least 300 NM with landings at 3 airports and one leg being at least 250 NM.
  • 5 hours at night VFR with 10 take offs and landings at an airport with a control tower.
